I Missed Them

I just wanted to write a very quick post to share about how much I love my job. Today was our second day back at school after a lovely two week holiday, which students and teachers alike needed desperately. It's that time of year, and anyone with connections to schools will know that it's crunch time. We have ten weeks left, and it will be the fastest ten weeks of the entire semester.

As exhausted as I am (fighting jet lag and mustering the energy to teach after two solid weeks of relaxation), I am absolutely thrilled to be back at work. I missed my kids while I was gone, and that's such a good sign! They bring light and joy to my life, in ways I couldn't have foreseen. God has given me such a fresh sense of perspective now that I'm back, and my energy is renewed and I'm ready to finish out the year.

Also, one of my German boys is back! He has been away since Christmas, because he was attending a special school to help with some of his special challenges, but has returned and we are so glad to have him back! That bumps my class number up to 17 again! Please remember him in your prayers, as he will be trying to catch up on three months of learning, and his English is already fairly low in comparison to my other students. He seems to be jumping back in feet first though, and has had the biggest smile on his face for the past two days. Praise God.

Being away from Germany gave me such a freshly renewed spirit, and I am so glad to be back. I feel in my heart that this is exactly where God wants me to be, and it is such a joy to love and teach the students here. Thank you for your support, both financially and prayerfully-I would not be here without you, and for that I am so thankful.
