Bilingual Worship

Every other Thursday morning our school gathers (crowds) into the music room for chapel. My favorite part, and something that I am thankful for today, is our bilingual worship time with the children. I love the simple songs that we sing, and that we sing verses in both languages. It's just a tiny snapshot into the beauty that comes from diversity, and how we can truly glorify God with our hearts in any language.

Today I sat next to one of my boys and got to listen to him singing in German, and it melted my heart. He is one of my English speaking students, and is a missionary kid who has lived in America, Tajikistan, and now Germany. He is new to our school this year, and knew no German before he came. His attitude about learning and speaking in German amazes me, and today I got to listen to him singing in perfect German. As I sang with him, I was so encouraged, and my thoughts turned to how much this must make God smile.

Just some happy thoughts for you today!
